The Oscar nominations are
in: The Passion of the Christ is among the honored
nominees for the 77th Annual Academy Awards. Congratulations
to our own Christien Tinsley! The other nominees
include Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate
Events and The Sea Inside. Tune in Sunday, February
27th at 8pm eastern/5 pm pacific for the results.
January 14,
2005:
The Hollywood Reporter
announces the seven films being considered for
the 2005 Oscar race; The Passion of the Christ
is among those selected. The rest include: The
Aviator, De-Lovely, Harry Potter and the Prisoner
of Azkaban, Hellboy, and Lemony Snicket’s
A Series of Unfortunate Events. Ten-minute reel
clips from each of the seven films will be screened
this Saturday, January 22nd for the Makeup Award
Nominating Committee. They will then nominate
up to three films for the final stage of the Oscar
process. Nominations will be announced January
25th.
